Rising anger issues in our frontline workers

“I am risking my men’s lives for everyone’s safety but no one cares about it. Why can’t people just stay home or follow the protocols to stay safe? My men are getting infected while doing their jobs and still no one cares. Why should WE risk our LIVES if people do not care for their OWN?” expressed Inspector Naik when asked about his opinion on the current conditions.

With a few relaxations in the lockdown rules, people seem to have tossed precaution to the wind. Whereas they are enjoying themselves, life has become a nightmare for our frontline workers like the police force. Naik adds, “We are giving protection to the government cleaners and the patients too but sometimes people don’t want to listen. The patients are running away from hospitals, their family members are attacking the doctors. Citizens are mistreating the government cleaners and other personnel who are trying to look after cleanliness and sanitization. What is wrong with people? Why can’t we get enough support from them?”

The current scenario is literally making the frontline workers live on the edge. People are not cooperating, their own work schedules are demanding, and  they are also trying to adjust to the new normal. This is making them grudge people around them, feel an antipathy for everyone and most feel like giving  up.

To make things easier for them, here are a few suggestions

Follow the protocols stay home and do not roam around without a necessary reason or purpose.

Spread the right word. Do share any kind of false news and encourage others to do the same.

Obey the frontline workers. Irrespective of them being doctors, policemen, cleaners, social workers; make sure you try and obey them or behave with them in a polite manner. After all, they are doing everything in their power for our safety.

Assist and volunteer whenever needed. Asking the people on patrolling and checking whether they need water rather than treating them as someone who is going to spread the virus, is a simple thing one can do to make them feel worthwhile.
